Academic contributions:

1. Invented ischemia free organ transplantation technology, solving the global problem of organ ischemia injury;

2. Establishing a simplified multi organ transplantation technology system, providing a cure for end-stage multi organ diseases;

3. Overcome the technical difficulties of organ donation for cardiac death and provide technical support for the reform of organ donation for Chinese citizens;

4. Propose the concept of "organ medicine" and open up a new field of medical research and treatment at the organ level.

Dean He has published 595 papers, with 171 SCI papers published as the first/corresponding author. He has edited 12 monographs, including "Non ischemic Organ Transplantation," and has obtained 6 international patents and 18 Chinese patents, achieving achievement transformation. His research results have been included in 11 international clinical guidelines and consensus. Guided students to win 21 international academic awards, was selected as one of the "Top 10 Scientific and Technological Innovations in China" by eight ministries including the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2017, was appointed as a visiting professor named "Joseph Murray" by Harvard University (the only one in Asia), won the only special prize in the 2020 International Quality Innovation Competition (the first in China, ranking first), won the first prize in Guangdong Province's Science and Technology Progress Award (2021, ranking first), won 2 national science and technology progress second prizes, 6 provincial and ministerial level science and technology progress first prizes, and holds 24 international and domestic patents.
